Solitude

I'm so grateful to be alone:
away from the social networks
away from the chaos of the city
away from the professional works
away from the world of pity.

I'm so grateful to be alone:
crickets in darkening grass
a walk among pine trees
be with the ocean's pulse
or the silent early dawn.

I'm so grateful to be alone:
I don't have to answer to anybody
In this solitary silence
I can't be hurt by anybody
But just internal violence.

I'm so grateful to be alone:
Walking where the moonlight shone
Living forgotten and loving forlorn
In that muffled monotone
Living on my thoughts on my own.
